The Don’t Look Back Center (DLBC) is a licensed behavioral health agency in Colorado focused on empowering marginalized individuals—especially women, trans women, men, trans men, and non-binary people—impacted by addiction, trauma, and justice involvement. Their whole-person approach integrates physical, mental, emotional, and social health to break cycles of substance use and foster lasting recovery. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers flexible scheduling so clients can maintain daily responsibilities while participating in group and individual therapy, trauma-informed care, and relapse prevention. The Trans Outreach Program (T.O.P.) provides peer-to-peer support and community building for transgender individuals, creating a safe space for open dialogue and recovery support. DLBC’s House of RAHAB is a certified recovery residence for women and trans women, featuring a “Mommy & Me” program at its Denver location that offers housing for pregnant mothers and those with infants under one year old, along with baby supplies and at-home nurse visits. Culturally responsive therapies include Habilitation Empowerment Recovery (H.E.R) for Black women and Habilitation Empowerment Accountability Therapy (H.E.A.T) for men of color, addressing substance use and justice involvement through a trauma-informed, strengths-based lens. Additional holistic support includes a community food pantry, Carolyn’s Closet clothing resource, workforce development services such as resume assistance and mock interviews, Acu-Detox treatments to help reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, and opportunities for volunteering and internships.
