Choice House is a male-only addiction and mental health treatment center located in Boulder County near the Rocky Mountains. Accredited by The Joint Commission, the facility provides a highly rated continuum of care designed to support men coping with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma. Programs include a 90-day residential treatment option, intensive outpatient programming (IOP), and structured sober living, each offering varying levels of support to meet clients where they are in their recovery journey.
The residential program is a phase-based, 90-day inpatient experience that provides over 20 hours of therapy each week combined with outdoor experiential activities in the scenic Rocky Mountain setting. For those who may not require or who have completed residential care, the intensive outpatient program offers structured group and individual therapy sessions—typically 10 hours per week—available to both on- and off-campus participants. Structured sober living provides a minimum 120-day, 12-Step-based environment that emphasizes peer support, accountability, and gradual independence, with regular mental health check-ins to support long-term stability.
Choice House uses a therapeutic approach rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness. Complementing these methods are experiential therapies such as adventure therapy, yoga, art, and somatic practices. The program also incorporates family support and dual-diagnosis treatment to address both substance use and underlying mental health needs in a holistic, client-centered way.
