Maya’s House is a residential substance abuse treatment program operated by The Heritage Foundation that serves women and children throughout Georgia. The program is designed to help women overcome substance use as a barrier to employment and long-term stability through professional counseling, skills development, educational support, family counseling, psychotherapy, self-image therapy, psychodrama, and therapeutic childcare provided on site. Admission requires completion of detoxification, with priority given to pregnant women, TANF recipients, and individuals most likely to benefit from the program. Maya’s House commonly serves women affected by trauma, relapse, unemployment, and parenting challenges, including those who have not responded to outpatient treatment or have experienced repeated relapse, with individualized stays averaging approximately 12 months.
