Ilima Intermediate School in Ewa Beach, Hawai‘i, is not a drug rehabilitation center itself, but it partners with the YMCA of Honolulu to provide adolescent substance abuse treatment services on its campus. Through this collaboration, youth ages 12 to 17 have access to outpatient programs, including both regular and intensive outpatient care. Treatment incorporates evidence-based therapies such as Motivational Interviewing, trauma-focused counseling, anger management, and relapse prevention.
The program also offers individual, group, and family counseling, along with substance use education to help adolescents and their families better understand addiction. Support services include life skills training, tobacco cessation counseling, and peer mentoring, ensuring that students not only address substance use challenges but also gain practical tools for long-term success.
