The Mountain Center’s Transitional Living Program (TLP) provides a trauma-informed, substance-free environment for women recovering from substance use disorders. Located in Peña Blanca, New Mexico, the newly renovated residence offers a supportive space where women can focus on their recovery while developing the skills necessary to reintegrate into their communities.
The program serves women, including mothers and pregnant women, who need additional structure and support to transition successfully into independent living. Through Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP), case management, relapse prevention, parenting classes, health and wellness activities, and therapeutic adventure programming, residents build resilience, self-awareness, and coping skills to support their long-term recovery.
The TLP fosters a nurturing environment that supports co-occurring mental health conditions, offering access to mental health services and medication monitoring as needed. The program also works with the New Mexico Corrections Department, accepting eligible women under parole and probation supervision.
The Mountain Center’s experienced staff provide comprehensive care through licensed therapists, case management, and a continuum of services, ensuring every resident leaves with a detailed discharge plan and the tools needed for a stable, positive lifestyle.
