The Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Coastal Bend provides outpatient substance use disorder treatment for adults age 18 and older and youth ages 13–17 who are experiencing problems related to alcohol or drug use. Adult services include individualized treatment planning by licensed chemical dependency professionals, while youth services include comprehensive assessments and referrals, individual and group counseling, parent-child therapy, abstinence planning, substance use education, and referrals for adolescents who need more intensive inpatient treatment. The program serves both individuals who have never received treatment and those continuing recovery after an inpatient stay, with priority given to pregnant individuals, people who inject drugs, and individuals referred by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
