Royal Life Centers at Cascade Heights in Mead, Washington, provides outpatient substance use disorder treatment and continuing recovery services for individuals transitioning from higher levels of alcohol and drug addiction treatment in Mead and the surrounding Spokane County area. Cascade Heights serves as an aftercare and outpatient facility within the Royal Life Centers continuum, helping clients gradually return to everyday life following medical detoxification and residential inpatient treatment through an individualized 12 week program consisting of Partial Hospitalization and two phases of Intensive Outpatient treatment. The four week Partial Hospitalization Program provides six hours of group therapy Monday through Friday and three hours on Saturday, along with individual counseling, psychoeducation, coping skills development, relapse prevention, and therapeutic work focused on the mind, body, and spirit. Clients then transition into the first four week phase of Intensive Outpatient treatment, which provides five hours of group therapy Monday through Friday and three hours on Saturday while emphasizing emotional regulation, stress management, mindfulness, interpersonal communication, life skills, employment preparation, and greater personal accountability. The second four week IOP phase reduces group treatment to three hours per day, three days per week, allowing clients greater independence while maintaining recovery accountability through employment, meeting attendance, curfews, and random drug testing when participating in the structured program. Treatment is individualized through an Individual Service Plan developed collaboratively with the client and primary therapist, with additional support from case managers, employment specialists, counselors, and peers. Cascade Heights uses research based and holistic approaches that may include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, activity and adventure therapy, music therapy, individual counseling, group therapy, relapse prevention, and support for co occurring mental health concerns. Optional sober living is integrated with outpatient recovery, with Royal Life Housing available during PHP and IOP and Graduate Housing available to qualifying program graduates who continue outpatient treatment. Sober housing provides a structured recovery community, regular drug testing, accountability, assistance obtaining employment, and access to staff 24 hours a day, helping clients develop financial responsibility, independent living skills, sober support networks, and greater self sufficiency. Following completion of the structured 12 week program, clients may continue traditional outpatient treatment and recovery housing for a variable period based on their individual needs and progress.
