Beacon House is a residential substance use disorder treatment program located in Fond du Lac in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, providing a structured 90 day recovery program specifically for women struggling with addiction. Operated by Friends of Women in Recovery, Inc., the program is housed in a four level, 12 bed residential home where women receive individualized treatment intended to help them move away from substance dependence and develop the skills needed for independent, addiction free living. Treatment focuses on the whole person by addressing mental, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of recovery, with the Twelve Step principles of Alcoholics Anonymous forming an important foundation of the program. Women participate in individual and group counseling while receiving close monitoring, professional guidance, and support from clinicians, trained staff, and other service providers. Recovery programming extends beyond substance abuse counseling to address factors that can affect long term sobriety and stability, including trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, parenting, employment readiness, financial literacy, spirituality, housing skills, and healthy family relationships. Family education and interactive groups are available, and residents receive life skills development along with transition and discharge planning to prepare them for greater independence after residential treatment. Each woman’s program is individualized according to her circumstances, recovery needs, and personal obstacles, with active participation emphasized throughout the treatment process.
