Pathways to a Better Life, LLC is an alcohol and drug treatment center located in Kiel, Wisconsin, providing residential substance abuse and mental health treatment for adults in a private, rural setting designed to support healing and long term recovery. The Kiel Campus is a coed adult residential program consisting of two eight bed homes with a total of 16 beds situated on 38 wooded acres, creating a peaceful and family like treatment environment. Pathways operates as a dual diagnosis program, allowing residents to receive care for addiction alongside co occurring mental health concerns, and the program can provide support for detox needs as residents stabilize and continue treatment. Care is individualized and based on a trauma informed, holistic approach that addresses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs, with treatment plans reviewed weekly by the clinical team. Residents may participate in evidence based therapies, mental health treatment, relapse prevention, life skills development, and other recovery focused services intended to help them understand their substance use, develop healthier coping strategies, rebuild their lives, and prepare for lasting sobriety. Pathways is licensed to provide both high intensity and low intensity residential treatment, and rather than limiting everyone to a traditional 28 day stay, counselors evaluate each resident individually and may seek additional treatment time when clinically appropriate. The average residential stay is approximately 45 days, although some residents may remain for 60 or 90 days depending on their needs and progress. Family involvement is also emphasized through weekly Saturday family groups and a Family Alumni Group held on the third Saturday of each month, helping families learn about addiction and mental health while developing healthier communication and supporting their loved one’s recovery. Pathways is also expanding its services to adolescents, with its Waldo Campus being dedicated to adolescent treatment and additional family centered programming. The organization is certified by the State of Wisconsin under DHS 75 and DHS 83 and focuses on providing substance abuse and mental health treatment in a safe, respectful, judgment free environment.
