True North at Capital Region ESD 113 in Raymond, Washington, provides school focused behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services for students, working with young people and their families to address challenges affecting their well being, recovery, education, and functioning at school and in the community. True North offers a range of services that includes behavioral health screening, assessment, intervention, referrals, education, individual counseling, family counseling, support groups, mental health treatment, and substance abuse treatment, allowing students with alcohol, drug, emotional, or behavioral concerns to receive support that is coordinated with their educational needs. The program also helps connect students with appropriate services and serves as a go between for schools, juvenile justice agencies, and behavioral health systems, which can be particularly important for youth whose substance use or mental health concerns involve multiple community systems. Family participation and coordination are incorporated into the program so that treatment and support can extend beyond the individual student when appropriate. True North is operated through Capital Region Educational Service District 113 and provides services through locations in its regional school communities, including Raymond, with centralized intake and scheduling available for students seeking services. Its combination of student focused substance abuse treatment, mental health care, individual and family counseling, assessment, early intervention, education, support groups, referrals, and cross system coordination is designed to help youth receive behavioral health support while remaining connected with their families, schools, and communities.
