Transitions Center, located in downtown Rhinelander in Oneida County, Wisconsin, is an outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment center providing addiction therapy, AODA counseling, dual diagnosis treatment, psychotherapy, and specialized counseling for individuals, couples, and families. The center specializes in substance abuse and addiction treatment and works with people experiencing alcohol or drug use problems as well as individuals whose substance use occurs alongside mental health conditions, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, grief, or other behavioral health concerns. Treatment services include individual psychotherapy, AODA counseling, dual diagnosis treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness practices, trauma focused CBT, grief counseling, anger management, domestic violence services, couples counseling, and court referred assessments and treatment. Clinicians have specialized experience addressing addiction and substance abuse, complex and developmental trauma, gambling problems, women’s issues, severe and persistent mental health disorders, family concerns, and behavioral difficulties. The center also provides health education related to HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and other diseases that can be relevant to individuals receiving substance abuse services. Because treatment is provided on an outpatient basis, clients can participate in counseling and addiction therapy while continuing to live in the community and maintain their family, employment, and other daily responsibilities. Transitions Center emphasizes individualized professional care and uses modern mental health, psychiatric, and evidence based therapeutic approaches to help people improve functioning, address the underlying factors contributing to substance use, strengthen coping skills, and work toward sustained recovery.
